Gareth Jackson and Mark Karinja are directors and DoPs who’ve been working side-by-side for over 15 years. They grew up on the west coast of Mexico and the east coast of USA respectively, and started out filming surf, skate, and snowboard videos — an influence that still shapes their work today. Jackson lives in New York and Karinja lives in New Orleans, but they spend time working all over the world.
Jackson and Karinja met while working on film crews in NYC, and quickly started shooting shorts, commercials, and music videos together as + jacksonkarinja. They continue to shoot their own work and take pride in a collaborative, hands-on process that builds each project from the ground up.
